While working with customers, we’re constantly learning about their needs and managing inquiries that arise. As a result, we’ve included a list of frequently asked questions along with answers in order to provide additional support. If your question isn’t addressed below, get in touch with us and we’ll provide the information you need.
Are there any benefits for first-time customers?
The Benefits of being a first time customer areA. You will see a dramatic reduction in the midge population on and around your property andB. You can become an ambassador for your community through first hand testament, where you can then move towards our customer referral program where you will be entitled to a free treatment the next time you need us.
Do you have a customer referral program?
Yes! If you can introduce your neighbours to Eco Midge control and they have their homes treated, you will find the results are vastly better, from a 75% reduction to around 85% reduction of midges on your property, also If you refer 5 clients (Neighbours) we will happily treat your property for free.
What if I am not satisfied with Eco Midge Control?
Mother Nature isn't perfect, but not far off!We are dealing with a naturally occuring Mite and a weather system that is often not always condition perfect. You will find that after a heavy dew or rain you will have recurring Midges, but will be significantly less in number and will then drop off again as the Midges eggs transform into food for the Mites (larvae). If the Mites don't get their fill of Larvae they will either simply leave or cannibalize themselves.Hence re treatment will need to be done at a later date, approx 4 to 6 months depending on the weather conditions.
Is this another canetoad scenario?
This is Definitely not another ecological nightmare, the Mites we use already live in your garden and have done longer than you.We are simply increasing the number to offset the number of Midges. We are not attempting to eradicate the Midges altogether as they too have a role in the ecosystem.
Eco Midge Control
Exceeding Your Expectations

What's the point of midges - and how do you stop them biting?
The Ceratopogonidae (biting midges) are serious blood-sucking pests, feeding both on humans and other mammals. Resulting in seriously itchy bites and irritation. Understanding their life cycle and the use of Predatory Mites leaves them at a disadvantage.

Here For You
We treat your property twice on the initial treatment, (grass, gardens, general outdoors areas) increasing the numbers of a pre-existing predatory mites. The increased mite numbers eat the midge larvae, breaking the life cycle of the midge. The mites are safe for humans, animals and plants. There will be a time when you will need to re-treat your property. The predators fan out and literally eat up to 50 midge larvae per day. When they run out of food, they then either starve, cannibalise themselves, or leave. This leaves the way open for the local population of biting midge to re-infest your garden. They will, slowly rebuild in numbers to the point where they will become a pest to you again, before you reach that stage re-treatment will be required to maintain management, this process could take between 4 to 6 months. Proximity dependant.
